More Sponge Bob ...
This morning Cailyn wanted to draw a picture of Sponge Bob so she turned on the TV and then paused it so she could sit there and draw it. And she did pretty good, too! I especially like all the details she included, like his clothes & tie.

Sponge Bob
Okay, I admit it, I just don't get Sponge Bob. That show is soooo annoying and it's all Cailyn is interested in these days!!! Landon loves it, too. How many 1 1/2 yr olds know how to say "Sponge Bob"? (Even now as I'm posting this blog he sees the pic and is jumping up and down getting so excited!) I can endure pretty much most of the kids shows out there, but this one just makes me cringe. I just don't get it ...

Don't mess with the binky ...
Landon has suddenly become WAY too attached to his binky. He has to have it in his mouth every second of the day, unless he is eating or drinking. So today I tried to take it away. BIG mistake! First he threw a tantrum while we were wrapping presents and stormed (yes he storms!) out of my bedroom. I went after him a minute later to find that he had pulled a chair to the counter and climbed up to get to his stash of binkies. I *thought* I hid them and he hadn't seen where I had put them. Wrong! I love how he acts like it's no big deal that he's up there.

Juice It Up Surprise
Last week Cailyn was Daddy's Little Helper with the Christmas lights so he promised her he would take her to Juice It Up (her favorite treat!). So after doing a little bit of Black Friday shopping today he decided to make good on his promise. When we pulled up, Santa was there! They were set up to take pics w/Santa so Cailyn got a smoothie AND got to talk to Santa. Just the other day Colby and I were saying we were NOT going to go the mall again to see Santa cuz we didn't want to wait in the lines. And here he was, no one else around ... it was fabulous! Of course Landon wouldn't smile and the kids were in their PJs, but we (and Cailyn!) thought it was great!

Trim the Tree
Today we put our tree up and Cailyn had fun "fluffing" the branches. Landon had more fun taking the ornaments off. I have a feeling we'll end up with a lot of missing ornaments by the time this season is over. :)
And I'm so excited because I FINALLY found the perfect tree topper for our all-Disney tree.

Thanksgiving Feast
Thursday at school Cailyn had her Thanksgiving Feast. The kids sang a couple songs for the parents and then got to eat a Thanksgiving dinner. But just before the festivities began Landon took a fall (under Colby's watch I might add!) and almost bit straight through his bottom lip. Poor kid! So Colby took him home so that I could stay and watch Cailyn. And she did so well -- she smiled throughout the songs just like I told her. :)
I couldn't get a good pic of Landon's lip, but Colby wanted me to take a pic of their blood-stained clothes. Why is it that heads & mouths bleed so much?!

A Disney Birthday
Wow ... I can't believe Cailyn is five!!! Yesterday we celebrated her birthday at Disneyland. She got to wear a special birthday button so everywhere we went people would tell her Happy Birthday which she just loved. She got a special birthday bucket that came with a personal cake on top and she carried that bucket around all day and wouldn't even let go when she finally fell asleep. We had such a fun day and it was a great way to celebrate my baby girl's birthday!
Oh, yeah. Sorry for the pic overload, but Dad was in charge of taking pics and, well, lets just say he loves his new camera. :)

A Pirates Life Fer Me
Last night we went to Mickey's Trick or Treat Party at California Adventure. We had such a good time! There were lots of trick or treat stations throughout the park and they were giving candy (and apples and carrots!) away by the fist-fulls. Since even the adults got trick or treat bags, we ended up with about a million pounds of candy!
The best part of the night was meeting Mickey & Minnie. We waited in line FOREVER but it was well worth the wait. When it was our turn I set Landon down and he RAN to Minnie's open arms and latched onto her. He would have cuddled her all night if we had let him! Even as we were leaving he turned back for one last hug from her. It was so cute!
All in all a great night and we all had a great time!

Too Much Fun
Chelsea, Aiden, & Sydney were visiting last week and we were having so much fun I forgot about my loyal fans (aka: Meagan!) and didn't keep up w/my blog. So sorry. :) We did lots of shopping, scrappy projects, duck pond, pumpkin patches, trunk or treat, Chuck E Cheese, parks, food, movies . . . the list goes on and on. I think we're all worn out from from a week of too much fun!

Petting Zoo
We went to our local pumpkin patch today, but because of the heat none of the rides were open. So the kids played in the petting zoo for a bit. Landon LOVED the animals! So different from Cailyn who was (is) always so scared of 'em. (Sorry about the lighting - our camera must have been on a weird setting.)
Also, Cailyn's friend from her kindergarten class was there and they were just so cute together.

Halloween Cookies
I love making fun/theme food for the holidays, especially Halloween. The kids and I made these itty bitty candy corn cookies. Here's the link: Candy Corn Cookies
Marie's Notes:
- Keep the dough chilled - it's easier to work with and holds the cookie shape better.
- Put the chocolate layer in the middle.
- Mine only took 4 minutes to cook. (But I like my sugar cookies nice n' soft!)

Why is it always head first with this kid???
This is Landon's new favorite way of going down the slide. The first time he did it he face planted into the grass. You would think that would've prevented him from doing it again. Nope, not this kid!

Santa vs. Daddy
Yesterday Cailyn came inside after playing on her swing and went on and on about how she needed a new swing. Her bucket swing apparently isn't very good for pumping and she wants one like the ones at school. So I told her she should ask Santa to bring her one for Christmas. Her reply? "No, I'll just ask Daddy. He listens better. Last time I asked Santa for a Tinkerbell polly pocket and he couldn't find one for me." :o) Apparently Daddy is cooler than Santa.
