Playin' at the Park

Yesterday was such a beautiful day so I decided to take the kids to the park. The big kids loved it, of course. I stuck the boys in a swing. They weren't really sure what to make of it but it sure was cute!!!

Happy St Patrick's Day

I love St. Patrick's Day. Okay, so I love any holiday that gives me an excuse to go all out. Colby thinks I'm a little nuts but I enjoy it and my kids enjoy it so that's what matters, right? :)

Last night Cailyn made a Leprechaun trap. Unfortunately he was a little too sneaky and got away. But he left lots of green goodies and gold coins behind. :)This morning we had some green pancakes and green milk.

I also sent Cailyn to school with a shamrock-shaped sandwich, green chips, green juice, and darn, forgot the green Jell-O! Guess that'll have to be for a snack. And of course we'll be having corned beef & cabbage and green rolls for dinner. :)

Scrabble by Candlelight

Project 52: Date Nights logo

We had a very busy weekend and I don't think either of us was too motivated to have date night this week. But once we got started it was a lot of fun and we were glad we did it! We played a game of Scrabble Express by candlelight (cuz everything is more romantic by candlelight!) and enjoyed some Coconut Rough, fresh from New Zealand (thanks Mum & Dad!). It's a good thing I'm not cut throat competitive cuz I'm TERRIBLE at Scrabble. Colby won by a long shot. Even though I cheated by using slang words. :)

Got Milk?

Do you think Jacob got more in his tummy or on his face?

Bouncing is hard work ....

Now that is one tired little boy!

Jacob fell asleep in his bouncer the other day but I couldn't get the pic loaded. I was excited to see Owen asleep in it today so I could post it. (Does that make me a mean mommy?!) What a sweetie!

Chubby Hubby Date Night

Mmmm, Ben & Jerry's. When Colby and I were first married we splurged on this treat quite often. (And for some reason we always got at least one Chubby Hubby. Why is that?!) But now that we have 4 kids, a mortgage and other things to pay for (heck 3 in diapers will bankrupt anyone!) we don't treat ourselves to this any more. So when Colby came home with it for date night I was pleasantly surprised. (And yes, one of them was Cubby Hubby!)

We curled up on the couch with our tubs and spoons and ate to our hearts content, without having to share a single bite with our kids. Selfish? Maybe. But I'm sure they wouldn't appreciate the goodness of it. And they're perfectly content with their no-name brand vanilla. :) We also watched Lost and despite promises of answers, we're still as lost as ever. But it was still a great date night!

Dr. Seuss

For Dr. Seuss Day Cailyn had to decorate a baseball cap in a Dr. Seuss theme. She chose to do Ten Apples Up On Top. It turned out pretty cute and she was soooo excited to wear it to school today. :)

Mr. Independent

Landon wants to do everything himself these days. He's always saying, "Let me do it." Or "Only me!" I usually let him do things his way. Even if it means missing a belt loop (or 2). Or with shoes on the wrong feet. Or pants that are backwards. After all, he's learning independence and confidence, right? :)
