Our playroom is done (mostly!)

Last week we took our first ever trip to Ikea. Wow, what a place! We knew we were in trouble when we pulled up to the parking garage and thought, "I didn't know we were going to Disneyland." :P So after we had our 99 cent breakfast (yes, we were shocked they had a restaurant, too!) we headed over to the kid section to pick out our Trofast storage system. I didn't realize it would be such a process. We had to pick out just the right amount, sizes and shapes of the units, plus make sure we got enough bins. And of course we had to make sure we got just the right amount of each size and make it all aesthetically pleasing all at the same time. :)

The storage units turned out great! After a few hiccups with patching walls and touching up paint (which turned into painting the whole room!) we had the daunting task of unpacking and sorting through all the kids toys. But we finally found a place for everything and now the room is finally done. Aside from unpacking the books. And maybe adding some fun decor. :)

Look Mom, no hands!

Get me outta here!

Check out this video of Jacob trying to get out of his bouncer. Good thing those things come with buckles! :P

Le Creperie

Project 52: Date Nights logo

For date night we turned our kitchen into a little creperie. We've never made crepes before and it was actually a lot easier than I thought it would be. It took us a couple practice crepes to get the right amount of batter and whirling action in the pan. Colby, ever the perfectionist, got it down pretty good. :)
We filled ours with apple pie filling and topped 'em with Cool Whip, caramel sauce and powdered sugar. Mmmm, don't they look yummy?
We had fun making these and learning a new skill. A great date night. :)

Cuddle Time

My big kids were extra cuddly during movie night tonight and I thoroughly enjoyed every minute!! :)

Time for a Change

This has been a long time coming. I've enjoyed having long hair for a while now (in fact, I think it's the longest I've kept the same hairstyle!) but I was ready for a change. I just started getting bored with it, not to mention the fact that it was constantly getting in the way of everything! So I decided to chop it all off. :) I'm happy with the results -- it's much lighter, much easier, more versatile and dries soooo much faster in the mornings!

Movie Night Date Night

I've been wanting to see this movie for a while now so for our date night this week we finally got to watch it. :) We also had some popcorn, butterfingers and root beer. Lots of fun!

Updates, updates, updates

Where have we been you ask? BUSY! All of a sudden our lives just seem go, go, go these days. First of all, we moved to a BEAUTIFUL (and much larger) home a few weeks ago. We absolutely LOVE it and are so grateful to those that have helped us out. We are still unpacking and probably will be for a long time to come. We have too much stuff and and too many kids that keep us from getting it done. :P

The kitchen & family room are really the only rooms that are *mostly* put together.

We also got to go to Disneyland a couple weeks ago. I'm not gonna lie, it was TOUGH juggling all four kids, but it was also so much fun! I mean, how can you not have fun at Disneyland?!Last night Colby was taking the garbage cans out to the curb and was greeted by this. EWWWW!!!
The kids have been saving money by recycling water bottles and soda cans. So today I took them out to spend a little of their hard earned money. :)

Landon got some Cars pjs and Cars plate, bowl & cup. That kids LOVES him some Lightning McQueen! Landon turned THREE last week. It's still hard to believe! He got lots of car stuff for his birthday, too. And, of course, Cars cupcakes. He's been potty training since his birthday and has been doing surprisingly well. Although I am getting tired of emptying his potty. He is a little peeing machine! He drinks soooo much during the day. :)

Cailyn picked out a Littlest Pet Shop toy. She discovered that game on the Wii yesterday and now has an obsession!
Also, she lost her FIRST TOOTH on the day we moved. She lost it at school and got a little treasure chest to put it in. When I talked with her about putting it under her pillow for the Tooth Fairy she said, "Oh I'm not going to do that. I just want to keep my cute little tooth forever. I don't want the money." Luckily we convinced her to give it up. :)
Owen and Jacob are growing as fast as ever. They are also sleeping through the night which is AWESOME, especially considering my other kids never did at this age. I really thought people were lying when they said their kids slept through the night!
Owen has become way too efficient at rolling these days. I am so worried for when they can really get around!

Jacob absolutely loves jumping in his jumperoo. It just cracks me up to watch them. :)

Well, I think everything is up to date now. Hopefully I can get back to being more on top of things!
