Sno Cones

Cailyn & I got this cute little snow cone maker at Target on clearance for $1.29! I was soooo excited cuz I love snow cones. :) Then we made our own syrup by mixing 2 cups sugar, 1 cup boiling water, and 1 pkg Kool Aid. What a fun & cheap summer treat!!!

No TV Day

I am so sick of Sponge Bob and the kids watching it 24/7. So last night Cailyn & I talked about having a "no TV day" today. She actually seemed pretty excited by the idea so I figured I'd run with it! So today we are not watching TV and instead the kids are gonna play with all those toys they have stuffed in their closets that they never get out any more. Let's see if it lasts all day .....

A boy and his Cars ...

I put Landon down for a nap a little while ago and since I hadn't heard from him in an hour assumed he was asleep. That is until I heard him down the hallway talking about Cars. Sure enough, he'd gotten out all (or at least, most) of the Disney Cars stuff he owns and lined them all up:

flip flops, slippers, shoes, hat, jammies (which he pulled out of the laundry basket!), sun glasses, socks, McQueen, and Mack. Hmmm, maybe he has too much Cars stuff?
So after I scolded him he got the hint and fell asleep. Aw, what a sweetie!!!

Colby's "Second Wife"

Cailyn has really enjoyed watching Colby remodel our office to make it the new babies' room. The other night Colby came home from work after staying an hour late and dealing with difficult customers. He was worn out and hungry. The instant he came in the door Cailyn had the following conversation with him:

Cailyn: Daddy, can you work on the babies' room so I can watch you?
Colby: There's not really anything left to do in their room.
Cailyn: Do you have a ceiling fan for their room?
Colby: Yes.
Cailyn: Is it up yet?
Colby: No.
Cailyn: Well, then put it up!

She sounded like such a nagging little wife! It was pretty cute. :)

Beach Bums

I can't believe it's mid-July and this is the first time we've been to the beach this year! We had lots of fun but I think it wore everybody out. :)

Landon's Bedtime Inventory

(See attached picture) Landon is such a particular kid. When he goes down for a nap or bedtime there are specific items he MUST have before he'll go to sleep. Most kids have a stuffed animal or maybe a blanket. But Landon has a long list of things:

2 blue blankets
1 white blanket
1 Sponge Bob beach towel (fold just right so that he can see Sponge Bob's face)
2 Mickey Mouse dolls
1 Blue dog
1 Magenta dog
1 Dalmatian dog
1 white binky

Reading with Daddy

We got this book from the library last week and it is Cailyn's favorite book. And she just LOVES reading it with her Daddy! They've read it together 4 nights in a row now. I just think it's so cute to listen to them in her room reading it and I'm glad that Colby takes the time (even when we are getting the kids into bed at 9:45pm!) to read it with her. :)

Daddy's Little Helper

Colby has been working hard getting our office converted into the babies new room. Cailyn and Landon have been his little shadows, watching everything he does and getting his tools when he needs help. Yesterday Colby was using his drill when suddenly Landon jumped up and went to grab his toy drill and started working on his own. What a cutie!

Landon being ... Landon

So the other night we got the kids into their pjs and tucked them into bed and Colby and I went and watched TV on the couch. Probably about an hour later Landon came into the family room wide awake, wearing nothing but a diaper and his car shoes! We both just started laughing so hard. This kid is such a nut!!!

Ice Cream

A few days ago we were out getting the mail when what should we hear? The ice cream truck! So I decided to splurge and let the kids get a special ice cream. And what did they both pick? Spongebob, of course! They absolutely loved it and gobbled it right up. :)

Summer Fun

Last year we got this pool on clearance for about $4. We finally got it out last week and the kids had so much fun!
