Here's Colby's Halloween light show for this year. Sorry, it's a pretty rough video!

Dress Up Day

Today was dress up day at school and Cailyn was a pirate. While we were getting her dressed Landon started yelling cuz he wanted his costume on, too! And then I decided to put some make up on Cailyn. Apparently Landon wanted some make up on, too, and decided to apply it himself. Little turkey. :o)

Pajama Day

I think of all the days this week, Cailyn was most excited for today. She finds the whole idea of wearing jammies to school quite amusing.

Crazy Hair Day

Cailyn probably could have rolled out of bed this morning and had perfect hair for crazy hair day!

A Pirates Life Fer Me

Last night we went to Mickey's Trick or Treat Party at California Adventure. We had such a good time! There were lots of trick or treat stations throughout the park and they were giving candy (and apples and carrots!) away by the fist-fulls. Since even the adults got trick or treat bags, we ended up with about a million pounds of candy!

The best part of the night was meeting Mickey & Minnie. We waited in line FOREVER but it was well worth the wait. When it was our turn I set Landon down and he RAN to Minnie's open arms and latched onto her. He would have cuddled her all night if we had let him! Even as we were leaving he turned back for one last hug from her. It was so cute!

All in all a great night and we all had a great time!

School Pics

I was really worried about Cailyn's first school pics since she really doesn't take great pics. But I was pleasantly surprised that they actually turned out cute! :)

Too Much Fun

Chelsea, Aiden, & Sydney were visiting last week and we were having so much fun I forgot about my loyal fans (aka: Meagan!) and didn't keep up w/my blog. So sorry. :) We did lots of shopping, scrappy projects, duck pond, pumpkin patches, trunk or treat, Chuck E Cheese, parks, food, movies . . . the list goes on and on. I think we're all worn out from from a week of too much fun!

Petting Zoo

We went to our local pumpkin patch today, but because of the heat none of the rides were open. So the kids played in the petting zoo for a bit. Landon LOVED the animals! So different from Cailyn who was (is) always so scared of 'em. (Sorry about the lighting - our camera must have been on a weird setting.)
Also, Cailyn's friend from her kindergarten class was there and they were just so cute together.

Halloween Cookies

I love making fun/theme food for the holidays, especially Halloween. The kids and I made these itty bitty candy corn cookies. Here's the link: Candy Corn Cookies

Marie's Notes:
  • Keep the dough chilled - it's easier to work with and holds the cookie shape better.
  • Put the chocolate layer in the middle.
  • Mine only took 4 minutes to cook. (But I like my sugar cookies nice n' soft!)

Why is it always head first with this kid???

This is Landon's new favorite way of going down the slide. The first time he did it he face planted into the grass. You would think that would've prevented him from doing it again. Nope, not this kid!

Disneyland

I love the holidays at Disney!

Caught Red - Er, Pink - Handed

I have come to the conclusion that no matter how hard I try to keep things out of Landon's reach, it is never enough. The kid is just too darn busy!

Santa vs. Daddy

Yesterday Cailyn came inside after playing on her swing and went on and on about how she needed a new swing. Her bucket swing apparently isn't very good for pumping and she wants one like the ones at school. So I told her she should ask Santa to bring her one for Christmas. Her reply? "No, I'll just ask Daddy. He listens better. Last time I asked Santa for a Tinkerbell polly pocket and he couldn't find one for me." :o) Apparently Daddy is cooler than Santa.
