When w got home from church today we put the boys downstairs with their toys so we could go change. When Colby came back down a few minutes later he found the Ding Dongs all over the floor and Owen helping himself to one. :)
I guess we shouldn't really be that surprised considering we found them getting into the pantry a couple days earlier and trying to eat some crackers. :)

A Cars Room
It's no secret that Landon LOVES all things Cars. The kid breathes, sleeps, and lives for Cars. So when I saw how my friend, Kelly, did her son's room I just knew I had to copy it for Landon's room! We painted the bottom red, the top tan, and have a gray road going through it. He already had a Cars bedspread and I got the stickers from Target and several movie posters for super cheap. It turned out soooo cute and I think he loves it! :)

DIY Home Decor
I saw this idea online for DIY Photo Art and just knew I had to do it for our family room. It was so easy to do and I am so happy with how it turned out!!! Though I think I will change Owen's pic cuz his face is just too big compared to the rest of the pics. :)
And I also made these Dollar Store Hurricanes. So cheap and so easy. I'm already trying to find more places in my house I can put more. :)

Growing up
Yesterday Cailyn & I went on a mommy/daughter date. I picked her up after school and she wanted to go to the mall for a giant pretzel and to do some shopping. As we were walking the mall and past Claire's I jokingly told her we should totally get her ears pierced, thinking she would say "no way!" like she always does. Instead she said, "Yeah!" So I couldn't argue with that. :) She was so brave and didn't even cry. I wanted to cry though cuz it means my little girl is growing up too fast!
To each his own ...
The Marshmallow Test
A couple weeks ago we decided to give our kids the Marshmallow Test. The idea is to offer the child a single marshmallow, or if they can wait 15 minutes they get to have two marshmallows. The rules were that they had to sit in front of it. They could touch it or smell it, just not eat it.
Cailyn was first and she did great! Before the time even started she was trying to make deals with Colby, asking how many marshmallows she could get if she waited longer than 15 minutes. :) She stayed right in front of the marshmallow, singing songs and doing handstands and not touching it until the 15 minutes were up. Next was Landon's turn. I really wasn't sure he would be able to last 15 minutes. About 2 minutes in he smooshed it down flat and started playing with it. A couple minutes later he found a little car nearby and started making tracks in it. And he kept asking over and over, "Mommy, what if it (the timer) doesn't beep?" He was so concerned that the timer wasn't working and wouldn't beep and he'd have to sit there forever! But in the end he made it 15 minutes and he gobbled up his mangled marshmallow and got to have a second one. This was so much fun watching these kids do this!

Back to School
I can't believe this summer is already over! Last week Cailyn started 2nd grade and she was so excited because she was going to her new school. Other than a little meltdown the first day (cuz she lost her lunch box!) she's loved it. And this year it's all about Hannah Montana with her new backpack and lunch box.
